Rahim Rawjee
Row-G is the creative arm of Rahim Rawjee. He was born in South Africa and grew up in Toronto, Canada where he attended The International Academy of Merchandising and Design, acquiring his formal training as a garment technician and designer. In the late 90’s, Rahim returned to South Africa and showed his first ready-to-wear collection at SA Fashion Week where he was recognized as first on the scene as one of ‘South African fashion’s stylish street gang.’ The eponymous Row-G label quickly earned a reputation for trailblazing, cutting edge design and a sleek, glamorous yet timeless take on woman's and men's attire.
It was then, however, that the immortal elegance of Savile Row seduced him. This led to an apprenticeship on the world famous street under the masterful eye of Mr. Alan Percival of Chester Berrie which resulted in him adding traditional bespoke tailoring to his repertoire, but with the same cutting edge style that he had become known for.
Tailoring garments for the likes of rock stars and royalty, country presidents and global celebrities; his effortless elegance, sophistication and time honoured love of the craft resulted in his appointment as bestower to the Blue Blazer Foundation award, honouring individuals from Africa whose body of work has changed the world. Today, Rahim and Row-G, the brand, have become names synonymous with glamour, sophistication and craftsmanship whose sphere of influence extends far beyond the world of fashion and tailoring to interior design, art direction and lifestyle curation. Now based in Johannesburg, Rahim has curated an exclusive space of bygone craftsmanship, bespokery and charm. He has built a globally recognised African brand, that has circumnavigated the world through an illustrious client list, editorials in the world’s best magazines and seats in the front rows of fashion weeks, summits and boardrooms.
